Refuse Derived Fuel
Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) and Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) are both commodities that are recuperated through processing Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), Construction and Demolition (C&D) or Construction and Industrial (C&I) waste streams.
Materials with high calorific value such as paper, cardboard, wood and plastics will be separated from the waste stream and used as a fuel source.
Using Turmec’s recovery is approximately 99% on the first pass which will save money, time and labour costs, as materials will only be processed once.
RDF Waste Processing Machine
Upgrading a plant to include an RDF processing stream means further reductions in a landfill and having another source of valuable commodities. The RDFcan be produced to any size or specification including European Standard CEN343.
Waste-to-energy (WtE) or energy-from-waste (EfW) is the process of generating energy in the form of electricity and/or heat from the primary treatment of waste, or the processing of waste into a fuel source. WtE is a form of energy recovery. Most WtE processes generate electricity and/or heat directly through combustion, or produce a combustible fuel commodity, such as methane, methanol, ethanol. or synthetic fuels
RDF Waste Recycling Solutions
RDF recycling solutions saves vast quantities of energy and generally reduces the use of renewable resources to manufacture new products. For Example if all of the concrete waste produced annually in the US or some parts of Europe was recycled, the energy would be equivalent of 1 billion gallons of Fuel (petrol or gasoline) would be saved.
