Waste to Energy Solutions
Waste To Energy Plant Solutions
Waste to Energy solutions processes contaminated dry recyclables, turning them into Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) or Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF). These products are sent to waste facilities where they are burned and turned into steam or energy.
The SRF material is a refined version of the RDF material; the SRF will have the chlorine removed by means of optical technology, to eject the plastics from the waste stream. The material will then pass through a secondary industrial shredder to reduce its size before it is dried to minimise the moisture content.
The end product can then be baled and wrapped or collected loose in transport trailers, depending on the client’s off-take arrangements. The material can be then used as a fuel for the creation of heat in the manufacturing process of cement, for example.
Turmec’s separation process creates Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) or Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) from contaminated dry recyclables.
The organic fraction from a Turmec designed plant can be transported to an onsite Biological Treatment Plant. This process would entail Anaerobic Digestion (AD), a series of processes in which microorganisms breakdown biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen, that used for industrial or domestic purposes, to manage waste and/or to release energy.
Possible upgrades to a Waste to Energy solution are:
- Compost-like Output
- Refuse Derived Fuel/Solid Recovered Fuel RDF/SRF
